Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the director of this hall of fame said: "I don't believe there anyone else who has as much a connection to Colorado as John Denver." Denver was the first Hall of Fame ever inductee. Denver is the symbol of Colorado for many people across the globe. On my journeys around the world, I've encountered many people who are not from Colorado. They will declare, "Oh John Denver!" whenever they learn that you're from Colorado. Brown explained. Take Me Home Country Roads written by co-writer Bill Danoff - was Denver's first Top 10 single as a solo artist following a short period in small folk ensembles. Danoff composed the track along with Johnny Cash in mind but the moment Denver heard an early version it was clear that the track could become an instant hit. The song was first recorded a few weeks after that Washington D.C. performance.
